    Scripture: Matthew 5:8

    Main Idea: True blessing comes when your heart is pure.

    • What is your favorite hobby or activity and why? 

    Read Matthew 5:8

    • When it comes to purity, what does it mean to have a pure heart?

    • How is having a pure heart different from following a set of rules or trying to keep an image? (trying to follow the rules or keep an image is about us/our performance, having a pure heart is about focusing on God and allowing Him to transform us so we desire to do what is right.) 

    • What things/people/hobbies etc. most occupy the attention of people your age?

    • What about you…what things/people/hobbies etc. most occupy your attention?

    • What things/people/hobbies etc. do you need to focus less on so that you can focus on God more?

    Read Psalm 51:1-12

    • What are the key themes/ideas/requests David expresses to God?

    • How can we be more like David when it comes to confessing our sin and asking God to give us clean (pure) hearts?

    • How does choosing to focus on God change the way we see others or cause us to appreciate what we do have more?

    • What is one specific thing you will do this week to help you focus on God?
