Care & Recovery

It’s not uncommon for us to find ourselves in places we never expected to be in life.

Faith's Recovery Ministries are a place where you can go to find support and healing for life's hurts. Email each respective director or call the church office at 785-776-2086 for more information.

DivorceCare

DivorceCare is a weekly support group that offers an “oasis” in a difficult season of life. You’ll find it to be a warm and caring environment. DivorceCare is a network of +15,000 churches worldwide equipped to offer divorce support groups. There are three key parts to the DivorceCare experience:
1. Video Seminar (encouraging and information-packed videos featuring leading divorce recovery experts)
2. Support Group (small group discussion about the weekly video content & issues faced by individual group members)
3. Workbook (journaling and personal study exercises that reinforce the weekly session topics)

You may contact Trina (text 785.313.1964 or trinadams@gmail.com) or Paul (text 785.770.0139 or phayen@yahoo.com) for more information. Text messages are preferred and responded to quicker.

Stephen Ministry

Are you emotionally exhausted, hurting, going through a difficult life transition, or dealing with a painful loss? Are you feeling alone in this? The Stephen Ministry at Faith is a team of congregation members who are trained to offer high-quality, confidential, one-to-one Christian care to people going through various struggles. Members of the ministry offer their time by meeting with those in need once a week to provide encouragement and care. There is also a national website that provides information about Stephen Ministries. You may email us for more information (care@faithmanhattan.org).

H.E.A.R.T. (Helping Empty Arms Recover Together)

H.E.A.R.T. is a ministry that supports, comforts, and offers prayer for women and families who are dealing with infertility, a miscarriage, a stillbirth, or the death of an infant. We offer resources for these women to have options to receive the emotional and spiritual support needed to walk through the various stages of grief and loss and to let them know they are not alone in dealing with these painful losses. These resources include:
1. One-on-one conversations with someone who has also experienced a similar loss.
2. A care package designed specifically for those dealing with miscarriage/infant loss or infertility.
3. Grief/loss support groups (geared to miscarriage and infant loss specifically) offered as a Life Group option.

You may email Autumn (heart@faithmanhattan.org) for more information.

grace Based Recovery (for men)

Adult men are invited to join us as we seek to understand and apply the truth of God’s grace to live out the abundant life available in Christ. The group is, in part, motivated by a desire to encourage men to live in sexual integrity but is also intended as a safe community for those seeking freedom from any kind of addiction or stronghold.  For more information about this community of men at Faith who are pursuing freedom in this area, we invite you to take the step of contacting Brooke (brooke.beyer08@gmail.com).

WivesCare

If you have experienced relationship betrayal in the form of infidelity, pornography, or sexual addiction, WivesCare may be the next step on your journey toward hope and healing. WivesCare groups offer connection with other women who are on the same journey, as well as equipping, prayer and encouragement. These groups are open to both married and unmarried women and are safe, authentic and completely confidential. Through the WivesCare ministry at Faith, you can also schedule a one-on-one meeting for support and receive referrals for helpful resources. Email Sarah (sarah.beyer08@gmail.com) for more information on these and the next available WivesCare group.

GRIEFSHARE

We are a grief support group that provides help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. GriefShare is a weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. Our group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you do the difficult days ahead. Even if your loss is not recent, we would love to have you as part of our group. Our sessions will include video seminars, small group sharing, discussion, and devotionals to be completed throughout the week to assist you in processing your grief. The group is confidential and you may join at any time. You may email Lauren (lelistonjones@gmail.com) for more information.
