Week two of our experiment with Faith Café. We would really love to hear what you guys think of this. It will help us to determine whether or not this is valuable to Faith or simply a distraction.
This week’s episode has a little more humor (thanks for the suggestion Dave S.). Part of that is us feeling more comfortable behind the microphones as well.

Show Notes:
We talked briefly about how seeing God’s character can inspire faith and conviction in us. I thought I would share this quick video clip for your encouragement as part of a foundation for integrity. The clip shows a glimpse of God’s glory as shown by His creation. This is a clip from Francis Chan at Cornerstone Church.
Most of us are aware of situations where someone went about his or her ministry the wrong way and they lost credibility with you. We’ve seen it with nationally known leaders, but many of us have experienced it closer to home as well. How a person went about their ministry affected the fruit of their ministry.

This week we are launching a new experiment called Faith Café. Faith Café is a weekly round table discussion among the staff at Faith eFree. This episode centers around this week’s sermon giving a little more background information on the new series over 1 Thessalonians.
With the launch of Faith Café we are enabling comments on the podcast. If you have questions or something additional to contribute to the weekly sermon or what we have discussed in Faith Café click on the comment link at the bottom of the post. For comments this week, we’d like to hear your suggestions about what you would like to hear us discuss during our weekly Faith Café episodes.
Last but not least we’re not 100% sure we like the name Faith Café. If you have any better ideas add those to the comments below as well.

You will need to turn your volume up to hear well. We will continue to work out the technical difficulties in the weeks ahead.
As I studied this chapter this week, I was struck by the fact that I am thankful for the same things in you, the good people of Faith E-Free, for which Paul was thankful in the Thessalonians.

It’s possible to have a “decent church” where most people are content; where 20% of the people do 80% of the work; where one or two people come to Christ each year (mostly by accident); where leaders are like light bulbs – you use them until they burn out and then you screw another one in. But life’s too short to be satisfied with that type of church. Why not “go for” the church you really want to be.

The church is often isolated from the world around it. A lot of church-goers love when the church as an island: it may be monotonous and boring, but it feels safe and comfortable.
