God often gives difficult assignments. At least they’re difficult to us. Other people may be able to handle them with no problems, but we sometimes feel like God has given us an assignment that will take every ounce of spiritual and emotional energy we’ve got – and even then we’d be fortunate to get a D+.
In our passage for today (5:1-11) Paul addresses a concern among believers who are alive and awaiting the return of Christ. There seemed to be some anxiety over what would happen to them at the return of Christ.
In 1 Thessalonians 4 and 5 Paul describes the complexity of events that surround the personal, visible return of Jesus Christ. He describes things that go beyond anything we’ve ever experienced in this life.

Today we take on the issue of sex, trying to answer questions that we think you might have. Brian’s sermon below, titled A Life that Pleases God, covers Paul’s writings in 1 Thessalonians 4:1-8. Paul there states, “For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality.”
In our culture this is still one of the biggest issues we face. We try to tackle questions like: What is physically okay outside of marriage? How does God view me when I commit sexual sins? How can I approach a son, daughter, friend, or family member about these issues for help or to help? Etc….
